This is my counter question to our team basically. I mean if the promotion is in terms of the creation of online presence for sales generation, then I guess this comparison will not work. Okay.

Create an overall branding for the business. Which is so important now. Because what happens is with these sales platforms, they have got a huge network so they will be able to generate sales for you, but you don’t have control. Their policies change, their management change, their pricing change. Right.
So they will be the ones who will kind of dictate terms. Why do that?
- If you build your own presence, you have full control. You can scale up the size, do what most importantly, you can talk to customers directly. This is exactly where in one of our previous videos we have seen about dealers’ network. These are dealers. These are big dealers. Yeah. So they have the power.
- Therefore creating your own stuff, creating your own presence will always beneficial in the long run. So we want to use these platforms definitely for sales generation. But, apart from sales our marketing, our branding is very important as well.
Therefore, my suggestion to our team, rather than the customers here would be to make sure that our proposition goes out across correctly, as an overall business branding. Not just in terms of generating leads or sales. Although the key aspect is going to be sales for SMEs because they’re growing in that.
Therefore IndiaMart, TradeIndia excellent, if working for you, nothing like it.
But businesses should also think of creating their online presence for themselves so they can brand and grow as an independent identity. Rather than depending on someone else for their sales and those things. Makes sense.
