Tips To Optimize Local Business Listings To Drive In-Store Traffic?
How a local brick and motor business can approach online marketing to drive the in-store traffic?
Basically they’re looking for walk-ins.
There’s a big myth with most brick and motor business that, their local businesses cannot be promoted online.
Now I have talked to a many businesses and they feel that how can online help our brick & motor store, our shop or café, whatever?
So first I guess that myth has to be broken and using online brick and mortar businesses can really drive business. I have a list of things that they can do. Let me share with you.
1) Google My Business:
Get Google My Business profile in shape. Fill up everything possible about your local store and the address, contact details, e-mail etc what services you are offering.
The advantage of this is you’re directly going to be visible on Google. People are searching on Google on the move from their mobile phones so they can immediately locate a store and may walk-in
Facebook is becoming popular in local business market as well and they do have their tools that you can optimize you’re business page/profiles to get located via mobile for local search.
3) Working on your website:
Because nowadays any search starts with the website. Yeah. If you asking for any business, first want to look at the Website, what kind of service you are offering? What kind of products you are offering? Before the customer makes their decision.
So, in that case, you need to make sure that the website is also updated.
Many business owners feel, they don’t need a website for their brick and mortar stores. But, it’s a suggestion, also a recommendation I will say that having a Web site would be very important to them.
Once this is done, then you can look at other means to drive in more walk-ins.
How about incentivizing customers to shop through a walk-in?
So instead of offering a 20 percent discount at an e-commerce, you can do a 30 percent discount if he actually walks into the store.
That would definitely encourage customers to get into the store, especially the ones nearby.
4) Use paid marketing :
It is becoming very popular in the local business traffic driving. So you can do that.
5) Arranged/Organize Events :
You can arrange events around your local place promoting your store. They are very powerful. Now, promoting events can be done in both ways online as well as offline.
Exhibitions, trade shows. That would be one way or online events could be under way.
6) Cross Branding :
This is another aspect. So you are a shop and you have another store or business.
You can try to collaborate with them and create join marketing campaigns. So that people would want to come to your store. So your neighboring shop, you can create some offering, that if they visit the store, they can buy either of the two and stand over game.
So these kinds of offerings, incentives given to customers walking in to your stores, very important.
Ones that they are in make sure you capture that information That is very crucial.
It’s a very important point at least for local stores, because it’s not just about customers coming in once you want him to come again & again. Right?
So you must have the details on your hand to reconnect with them. We can take that up in another session.
So this could be the way that, a business could drive walk-ins into their stores.
